A DISABLED van lifer who sold his house after losing his job has shared how he converted his trusted vehicle into a cozy home for £157.
Bill Morton has been living in his Ford Transit for over a year and is loving the “nomad” lifestyle.

Bill, from Las Vegas, Nevada, discussed how he came to enjoy life on the road in an interview with the CheapRVLiving YouTube channel.
He said: “I was kind of forced into it but I kind of wanted it.
“My ankle was hurting from the remnants of a motorcycle accident in ’85 and [the doctor] said you can no longer work your job anymore.
“I applied for disability, got it and sold my house because I knew I couldn’t afford to pay for that and all the bills that come with it.
“I thought ‘I’ve lived in Vegas 61 years, it’s time to start seeing other things’ so I bought the van and here I am.”
Giving viewers a tour inside his home, Bill explained that he had managed to kit it out with everything he needed for just over £150 ($200usd).
Making excellent use of the space, he managed to squeeze in a camping stove, chest of drawers, single bed, wash basin and even a small desk.
The bed is supported by four jack stands, meaning Bill can adjust its height and level it off whenever he wants.
He even had a few fishing rods strapped to the ceiling, allowing him to while away the hours and hopefully get a tasty meal out of it.
Best of all, he didn’t have to modify the van at all or build anything new, keeping both cost and effort down.
While he has no TV or other creature comforts, he explained that he passes the time reading, fishing or engraving leather items which he can then sell.
Social media commenters were inspired by Bill’s journey.
One wrote: “Well done Bill – you made a good choice to go into the van and continue life as a nomad.”
Another added: “Very much enjoyed seeing Bill’s creative build.”
