A DRIVER who hired the cheapest rental car in Majorca has told of his disastrous experience.
Lee, who works as a car dealer in the UK, claimed it was the worst vehicle he had ever been loaned.

He picked up the Hyundai i10, which he said was a “decent” model based on the ones he’s seen in the UK, while on holiday on the Spanish island in October.
In a video review on YouTube, he said: “We couldn’t get one from the airport, we couldn’t get one locally, everywhere seemed to be fully booked.
“We did manage to stumble onto one place and, to be honest with you, it was on the bottom of my list.”
The place in question was BDV Rentacar Majorca’s branch in Palmanova, which actually has four stars based on 82 Google reviews.
Unfortunately, Lee’s experience was far from four-star quality.
A quick walkaround of the car revealed some damage to the bodywork, with the bumper “hanging off”, while some other panels didn’t quite line up with each other.
This would usually suggest that they have been replaced since the car was made, but this was not confirmed in regard to the specific car in the video.
And things only got worse once he got behind the wheel, leading him to conclude that the motor he had been given would “never pass an MOT in the UK”,
Lee claimed: “This thing has got huge problems with suspension.
“It’s got very dodgy steering.
“I have to say, it’s the worst hire car I’ve ever rented and it should definitely not be on the road.
“I’m not going far in it because it’s not safe to do so, we’re going to have to take this back I think.”
Fortunately, he hadn’t had to shell out much for it as the rental cost was only €45 (£38).
However, he did emphasise that, when in proper working order, the i10 is a perfectly good model.
He added: “If it didn’t sound like a bag of spanners when you drove it, as a little hire car it’s ideal.”
