The feature is a heated steering wheel – and it’s all the rage.

A Reddit user posed the question: “What’s your favourite gimmick on a car,” and many answered that it’s the warmable wheel.

“Never thought I would have wanted a heated steering wheel.

“Boy was I wrong, it is so nice getting into a warm car with a heated wheel on a cold morning,” said one.

“You miss it when it’s gone, that’s for sure. Downgraded from a ‘14 ML350 Bluetec to a ‘15 silverado 1500 and I miss my heated steering wheel and heated/cooled seats,” added another.

A third offered: “Always was skeptical and critical of this feature, furthermore I live in a warm climate.

“But on the occasional cold morning, having the cabin heater, seat heater and the heated steering wheel blasting (with open windows), my god… what a feeling.”

Despite the glowing reviews not everyone agreed.

Other favourite “gimmicks” mentioned included an auto dimming rear view mirror, tilting side mirrors when you go into reverse and an Illuminated manual shift knob.

It comes as a YouTuber revealed a clever feature hidden in a popular car that will help drivers get home on dark winter’s evenings.

The “genius” hack is dubbed the “follow me home light” and can be found in Fiat 500 car’s – a popular motor in the UK with more than 315,000 on the roads.

The light is designed to illuminate the area around the car for a set amount of time helping the driver to see where they’re going when they get out, The Express reported.

And a car expert says he knows the solution to a problem faced by all motorists who drive in cities.

French automobile brand Citroen created door protectors – dubbed “air bumps” – to prevent damage to the sides and edges of car doors.

The soft plastic attachments were said to “absorb” most of the dents.

And Czech automobile manufacturer Skoda included an “even better solution” in some of its models, according to car expert Jaime Requeijo Gutierrez.

A motors whizz also shared a hidden button in most cars that can help drivers who are locked out of their vehicle.

The button is located inside the door handle and can open the door if the car keys stop working.

The woman took to TikTok to share the helpful trick and it has caused a stir online with more than 500 likes.

She shares some other tips before she makes the shocking revelation.

Then she says: “The car key is out of power and the door cannot be opened, pop out the mechanical key, aim at the small hole under the door handle, pry open and find the lock.

“Put the key in and turn it, the car door opened.”
