I make £2,000 a month with my easy side hustle… I don’t have to leave my sofa & can travel the world – here’s how

A WOMAN has told how she makes £2,000 a month with her easy side hustle.

Joy Isaacs, 35, rents out a Seat Leon and Audi A1 from the comfort of her living room in Hammersmith, West London.

She finds customers using car rental app Turo and can even unlock her cars using her phone – meaning she never even has to meet anyone.

Joy told Sun Online she regularly makes up to £2,000 a month extra, alongside her full-time corporate role in change management.

She said: “It’s been an amazing way to make extra money without actually doing anything.

“It’s completely passive. I have a lockbox for one of my cars and can unlock the other from my phone. It’s so easy.”

Joy started renting out her Seat Leon in 2012, using a parking space by a pal’s flat near London City Airport.

And she says she’s never had any issues with customers, attracting mainly single businessmen and couples who kept her car clean.

She added: “I bought a £3,000 Seat Leon and used to rent it out for £30 a day. Over the course of a weekend I could earn more than £100 easily.

“I was so convenient for me. I didn’t have a single issue with anyone I rented out to. I was so fortunate.”

During the Covid-19 pandemic business boomed for Joy.

She added: “I had a lot of healthcare staff renting out the cars because they didn’t feel safe taking public transport or didn’t want to be stranded late at night.”

And her cars are completely booked up during train strikes.

She now rents her Audi A1 out for £67-a-day and her Seat for £49.

Over the last three years alone she’s raked in a huge £13,600 – enough to fund another car.

She added: “It’s really great when I have an expensive month like a family wedding coming up. I can just use this additional income instead of having to cut costs and save for months.

“I also use the money to pay off my cars. I have friends who bought cars on finance and paid for them completely after just two years rather than the usual five.

“They can afford to make bigger payments.”

Joy also regularly travels abroad, a perk that comes with her full-time job, but still rents out her cars while away.

She said: “The app is amazing, you can set what hours your car is available. I work weekdays so can just set it as available on the weekends.

“I focus on contactless to make it as passive as possible. I have an app that lets me unlock the car. I can do this from abroad.

“I was working in America and still running the business from there which was fantastic.

“I can park the car and get someone else to clean it for me. It’s all completely passive income. I love it.”

It comes after a man moved into his car after his landlord increased his rent – and now he lives off tuna and protein bars.

And another man hated paying rent so much he converted his car into a tiny home, fit with a fridge and even a toilet.
