Courteney said that by travelling she’s managed to “save quite a lot,” more than if she’d been living in Britain.
The marketing content strategist told CNBC: “I’ve actually managed to save quite a lot by traveling, certainly more than if I lived in the UK.”
She estimated that by living a nomadic lifestyle she was able to save at least half her salary.
Courteney has also hit on an unusual side hustle which means she sometimes doesn’t pay any rent – pet sitting.
She said: “This is one of my favourite ways to travel as I get to spend time with animals.
“My only costs for that month are food, transport and any extra activities I want to do.
“For example, I stayed in a beautiful villa in Cyprus for seven weeks looking after cats.”
Courteney added: “If I compared it to London, I would probably be paying the same for a room in a flat share as I did for a whole one-bedroom apartment with sea view in Madeira, for example.”
If anyone wants to follow in Courteney’s footsteps, she recommended going to Poland.
She said: “Of the places I’ve been in Europe, one of the best value for day-to-day expenses was Poland.
“The accommodation and eating out was really good value for money.”
Courteney added that Poland was really beautiful and the people there were “kind and friendly”.
In January this year, Claudia Wooham, 29, who also works as a digital nomad, revealed she earns £18,250 a month while enjoying the sights and sounds of Bali, Thailand and Dubai.
Claudia explained how she quit her 9 to 5 job where she earned £22,000 a year to go travelling.
After she booked a one way ticket, Claudia spent the next two years backpacking through Thailand, Australia, Vietnam and Cambodia.
But after she ran out of money, she turned her full time travel into a online business – where she can work from anywhere in the world.
Just 14 months after she started her business, Claudia explained that she hit a six figure revenue, hired her partner full time, has lived in five countries and enjoys the freedom of her passive income stream.
The 29-year-old content creator now earns ‘$20,000’ a month and plans to spend the year travelling across Europe.
Meanwhile Katie Macleod is a graphic designer who has travelled to 80 countries while working as a digital nomad.
If working online isn’t for you, there are other ways to travel the world while making money.
For example, Lucy who is a Lapland park ranger who spends her days singing and playing in the show.
Jobs in warmer climates include a caretaker of the islands of the Great Barrier Reef, a bookseller in the Maldives, and a rescue cat worker in Greece.
