I hate paying rent so I converted my car into a house – I have a fridge, sink, and bed… and it’s all completely free

A SAVVY motorist who “hates paying rent” has converted his car into a tiny house, complete with a fridge and sink, where he can live for free.

Motor-dweller Arslan took to YouTube to share his experience of life on wheels.

In the video, he said: “I hate paying rent.

“That’s why I’ve been rebuilding my SUV into a new camper car.

“My question for you is could you ever live like this?”

Well, things don’t seem too bad inside the transformed 4×4.

Arslan completely stripped out the interior except for the driver’s seat to give himself a blank canvas to work on.

From there, he pushed in an air mattress, desk unit and comfy leather chair to give the vehicle a homely feel.

There is even a working sink, presumably supplied by purified rainwater, and a fully stocked fridge.

Now, you might wonder how he manages to power that along with his lamp, fan and electronics on a 12V car battery.

Well, he has come up with rather an ingenious, and eco-friendly, solution.

The battery is kept topped up by solar panels which Arslan has affixed to the roof, making use of its bulky structure.

This allows him to keep everything he need running on clean, green energy and means he doesn’t have to pay an energy company to supply him.

Then, when he decides to move around, the motion of the car also helps to recharge the battery via the alternator, so he only has to pay for petrol costs.

He added: “Since I have solar panels on the roof, I can power this fridge 24/7.

“But the best part is, my electric bill is £0 a month.

“I can enjoy this cold drink knowing that I’m saving more money.”

Indeed, he could be saving thousands in the long run.

According to British Gas, the average energy bill for a one-bedroom flat in the UK is £687, so Arslan is getting a great bargain.

Social media commenters were all for it.

One wrote: “If a person needs to, it works. Clever & cosy.”

Another added: “The best way to live free.”

It comes after another campervan fan explained how he converted his rental van into an “apartment on wheels” for just £290.

Meanwhile, a NASA technician revealed the quickest way to de-fog your windows in winter.
