I got brutally attacked by a dog and had a hairy skin graft to save my nose – trolls are cruel but I embrace my new look

TRINITY ROWLES’ life was forever changed after she was brutally attacked by a family member’s dog who ripped her nose off.

Just shy of her 20th birthday, Trinity was dragged around like a rag doll by her dad’s 100lb pit bull in September 2022 and sustained severe injuries to her face and right arm.

She underwent several procedures over the span of a few days, including surgery to save her fractured and bitten arm.

And just six days after the vicious attack, doctors removed a flap of skin from Trinity’s forehead and scalp and grafted it to form a new nose.

“This surgery consisted of cutting skin and tissue from her forehead folding it down and attaching the living tissue along with cartilage from her ears and a donor to where the tip of her nose used to be,” a GoFundMe raising funds for her care said.

It added that Trinity, from Pennsylvania in the US, would need six surgeries to fully reconstruct her nose.

As her scars healed from the attack and painful procedures, Trinity took to TikTok to show her journey.

And she hasn’t shied away from sharing stark pictures of her new nose, which began sprouting hair due to the skin graft coming from her scalp.

In a recent post to the app updating viewers on her healing process, Trinity said: “Most of you know me from being brutally attacked by a family member’s dog.”

She thanked those who had supported her since she started sharing her story and told haters to “ignore it”.

“I’m the voice of so many and it is truly bringing me closer to people who’ve had the same thing happen to them,” the TikToker said.

“I am beautiful, I am confident, I am proud of who I am,” Trinity went on.

“I don’t care about what anybody else has to say.”

Trinity refused to succumb trolls telling her to “reconsider embracing” her knew nose as “it’s very hard to look at”.

“I will not reconsider embracing what I look like, my imperfections, because everybody is imperfect and we should love everybody the same,” the TikToker stated.

She added that her hairy nose had actually been a great icebreaker and lead to interesting conversations with people about what she’d been through.

When it came to the strands sprouting out of her nose, Trinity said: “At first it really bothered me, I was very self conscious about it, I didn’t want to look people in the face, I didn’t want them to look at me.

“But now I embrace, I learnt that I can’t go back, I can’t change it. Half the time I forget that it’s there, half the time I forget what I look like until I look in the mirror.

“I love me, it’s as simple as that.”

Trinity said she also didn’t want to go to the trouble of shaving her schnoz every day because “it’s a pain in the ass”.

In a separate video posted to her account in September, Trininty shared that she’d tried laser to remove the hair on her nose but that her second treatment had left her with burns and a blister on her nose.

“I guess you could say that I’m fearful to start it again,” she said.

But she emphasised that she doesn’t “hate the hair”.

The TikToker user cares for her nose and scarring by massaging it with vitamin E oil, using scar tape and putting a plastic cone in her nostril at night to keep it open.

She expects to meet with her surgeon in December to get further surgery.
