I fought Tommy Fury but he only beat me because I was drinking at nightclubs weeks before huge clash

JAKE PAUL has claimed Tommy Fury got the better of him because he was on the lash weeks before their fight.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer threw down with the former Love Islander in February in a social media grudge match several years in the making.

Paul, 26, came up short in the biggest fight of his brief professional career – suffering a split decision defeat.

The Problem Child blamed the defeat on “illness” and “arm injury” but has since pivoted to claims he was out on the razz seven weeks before fight night.

During an interview with The Nelk Boys, he said: “I knew I wasn’t focused going into the Tommy fight.

“I was drinking like seven weeks before and I was like, what the f**k am I doing?

“Both drinking and partying at the club.”

Former Disney star Paul felt like he could live it up during fight camp following six wins on the bounce.

He said: “You think like, ‘Okay, no one’s really beat me or given me a crazy challenge’.

“In hindsight, it’s so stupid and that’s why I’m saying it out loud.

“It’s so that like other people can learn from that and not fucking do that.”

Paul says he only came to his senses a matter of weeks before the Saudi showdown.

The social media sensation said: “It was like January 5th when I was like bro, what the f**k am I doing?

“I’m done with this shit and sure enough, I lost because of that.”

Paul bounced back from defeat to Fury in August with a unanimous decision victory over former UFC star Nate Diaz.

Fury, meanwhile, will be back in action next Saturday in a Manchester melee against YouTuber KSI.
