I bought a Tesla Model 3 – the door handles are a pain and the trunk door is a nightmare for letting water in

TESLA has been praised for it’s high tech cars, but one woman has taken to TikTok to share the downsides of the “luxury” vehicle.

Monique recently bought a Tesla Model 3, but the seemingly perfect car has a lot of issues.

Beginning with the door handles, Monique explained: “Yes they’re cute but they’re such a pain sometimes, especially if it’s cold or if you have acrylics, all my new passengers struggle.”

Tesla’s sleek door handles open by pressing one end of the outline, and then the handle pops open – but have proven to be confusing for some.

The gorgeous panoramic roof has issues as well – the seam between it and the trunk leaks in water whenever it rains, according to Monique.

As for the window, the TikToker said she worries each time someone slams her car door shut, as there’s no window frame.

She said: “I guess, this looks quite cheap to me for such a high tech car, and also when people close the door they are used to a door frame, so they tend to use the window which gives me a heart attack every time.”

One user commented: “Tesla’s are terribly made. You’re paying for the tech and the name, not for the build.”

Another chimed in: “You would think they have solutions to this for such a price!”

Some viewers weren’t amused with Monique’s complaints, however.

One said: “We don’t have the same problems.”

A user commented: “If you’re gonna drop that much money in a car it’s better to get a Mercedes or something like that.”

Another Tesla owner shared their frustration after swapping their BMW for the smart car.

The man took to chat forum Reddit and revealed that, following major problems with the delivery of his Tesla Model 3, he now feels that his new EV doesn’t compare to the quality of his previous BMW car.

Posting a huge list of pros and (mostly) cons, the Redditor said: “I’ve been driving my Tesla for the past 3 weeks, and I still kind of regret it.

The area which came in for the biggest criticism was the Model 3’s safety features.

Commenting on the r/electricvehicles thread, the man said: “The lack of a blind spot indicator is so appalling that in my opinion it should be illegal.”

At the end of his post, the man did offer a little more balance, saying: “All in all the car is good, but it’s not as great as the Tesla fanboys will have you believe.

“Driving it makes you feel like the early days of having an iPhone… For a car that retails for over $50,000, a lot of times it feels like a car that really should be closer to $40,000, if not less.”
