He cheated to beat the wrestling superstar at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia to claim the title.
However, 28-year-old Paul was widely-praised by fans for saving WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio from a serious injury during the bout.
The terrifying moment occurred when the legendary luchador jumped off the second rope with a Springboard Moonsault towards him.
But three-time world champion Mysterio only landed a few inches away from Paul as he almost crashed head first on the mat – only for the influencer to show great ring awareness by catching the 48-year-old mid-air on his shoulder.
It proved to be a tough catch as he fell to one knee before finally regaining his balance and safely continuing with the match before going on to triumph.
Now Paul has opened up on the scary ordeal and revealed he almost made a truly fatal mistake.
Speaking on his IMPAULSIVE podcast, he said: “Look, I’m going to come clean, because I’ve seen all these positive headlines right, ‘Logan saves Rey Mysterio’, the Mexican community going crazy, they’re praising me, saying I’m sort of a hero and so I’m like dang, I’m being recognized for doing something cool I’ll take it.
“Upon assessing my performance, while I do think I did save Rey Mysterio’s life I think I also almost killed Rey Mysterio.
“I think I was too far back for the move and I think he didn’t clear enough ground for the move.”
Paul added: “I was too far back and he didn’t clear enough ground – we both made a mistake and I had to catch him.
“So, like truthfully, while I like the headlines and I like being gassed up like this, I was just doing my job.”
