Hyperoptic down updates — Internet services resume after thousands of broadband customers hit by widespread outage

THOUSANDS of Hyperoptic broadband customers were left without internet during a huge nationwide outage.

At around 3pm on Friday, nearly 3,000 users of the internet provider experienced issues with their broadband connection, according to Downdetector.

But by around 3.45pm, the company confirmed issues had been resolved as reports plummeted to below 300.

It tweeted: “The issue was a large-scale one, we worked on the resolution as fast as we could and the connection should be back now. Thank you for your patience while were addressing this and we’re sorry for the trouble caused!”

Hyperoptic has been contacted by The Sun for comment.
