The resort will be called Magic Pirates Island and will built in the Marina d’Or tourist complex, near to already popular Benidorm attractions Terra Natura and Aqua Natura.

It will be inspired by “pirate legends” according to The Olive Press, who revealed that the complex will be designed for families and equipped ‘with the latest leisure technology’.

They also claim that developers want guests to have “the immersive experience of living on a pirate island”.

The plans also include swimming pools, as well as “fun and rest areas”.

There will also be pirate themed bars and restaurants.

Developers Grupo Fuertes and Magic Costa Blanca hope that the resort will be ready to open by the summer of 2025.

They have described their plans as “very positive news for the economy and tourism on the Costa Blanca“.

They also told Olive Press it will provide “added value and innovative experiences of leisure, fun and relaxation”.

It is estimated that the new resort will be able to support more than 200 jobs.

The resort wouldn’t be the first pirate-themed hotel in a popular Spanish holiday spot.

Pirates Village Resort in Santa Ponsa, Mallorca promises its guests that they will be “immersed in a world of pirates and fantasy where you will lack for nothing”.

Its buccaneer theme is carried throughout the resort, providing much more than just your average Spanish seaside hotel experience.

The pool has is overlooked by a giant skull and has waterfalls, caverns and slides.

There’s also a pirate’s tower complete with a plank that guests are made to walk if they’re not living by the resort’s pirate code.

The on-site entertainment sticks firmly to the theme as well, including pirate shows in the evenings.

The resort is also raided on a Sunday by the swashbuckling staff, with guests expected to fight back to prevent them from successfully taking over.

Its website states: “Can you imagine being boarded by funny pirates during your holiday? Fear not! Their attack is guaranteed fun and entertainment for the whole family.

“Our pirates will try to attack the hotel, but thanks to your help and that of our youngest guests, you’re sure to prevent them from succeeding.

“But beware… they will try to throw you overboard, so don’t get caught!”

Globales Los Patos Park

In the Costa del Sol the Globales Los Patos Park is also great for pirate-loving youngsters.

It has a splash park with a pirate ship and a big water cannon to aim and fire at friends and family.

Viva Blue Hotel

Another Mallorca-based pirate holiday can be found at the Viva Blue Hotel, which is home to a pirate ship swimming pool.

The galleon has several slides going into the kids’ outdoor pool.

H10 Mediterranean Village

Another pool with a pirate ship can be found at the H10 Mediterranean Village in Costa Dorada.

It also has water slides and water guns, meaning youngsters can spend their days in the sun pretending to be captain of their own pirate crew.

Meanwhile, this UK theme park has revealed two brand new themed rooms, including cookie-shaped beds and built in slides.

And this new seaside resort is opening in Wales this summer.
