But spots have not been made available to book via its website this year, and after some speculation among its fans, it has finally confirmed that it has closed.

The KidZania website says that its “ultra-realistic role-play activities” are designed to “mirror real-world careers” to give children a “unique learning and entertainment experience”.

Youngsters are given roles in shops, fire brigades, garages and other businesses in the play town, in order for them to learn what it’s like to be an adult.

KidZania is open in 30 locations across the world. with six more due to open soon.

However, the London attraction at Westfield shopping centre has now shut its doors.

A video shared via its website reveals that it will remain closed “until further notice”.

It says: “After 8 years of operations and 2.5million visitors, KidZania London closes its doors until further notice.

“Zanks to our visitors, partners, landlord and team who helped us ignite the spirit of KidZania.

“Z-U Soon.”

A further message says that anyone with existing bookings, “will be contacted directly.”

Sun Online Travel has contacted both KidZania and Westfield shopping centre for comment.

KidZania wasn’t only a hit with children, with adult only nights also very popular.

Grown ups could have the experience of being a youngster and spend the night playing in the town, with drinks and food also on offer.

Some disappointed fans have reached out to the attraction on social media to try and find out why it has shut.

One wrote: “What do you mean KidZania London is closing?!”

Another replied to their last post on X, formerly Twitter, which was posted on December 22, asking: “Did you know you were closing forever when you tweeted this?”

Meanwhile, Alton Towers has been forced to close one of its attractions after 21 years.
