Under this government-led scheme, the energy supplier will give a one-off payment of £150 to eligible customers by the end of March 2024.

Rebates will be made by way of a credit to the energy account, top-up voucher for prepayment meters, applied directly to a Smart Pay As You Go meter, or by cheque.

The Scheme is open to households if:

your eligible household is in Scotland and takes its current domestic electricity supply from EDF and continues to do so until the Rebate has been paid.

you or any other named individual, are the EDF electricity account holders living at the property and meet the Qualification Criteria.

More details about eligibility can be found here on EDF’s website.

There are three elements under the scheme known as Core Groups.

Under Core Group 1, eligible customers in receipt of Guarantee Pension Credit will be identified by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) – and will receive their rebate automatically from the supplier.

Under Core Group 2, eligible customers living in England and Wales will not need to apply for the scheme – and will automatically receive the amount.

For users in Scotland who are not eligible will have to apply each year to get the benefit of this scheme.

If you have credit metre, your Warm Home Discount rebate will be credited directly to your account.

It will reflect on your next bill and you’ll also be able to view this via your online account as well.

Prepayment customers will receive a voucher in the post and instructions on redeeming it.

It can only be redeemed at a nearby Post Office.

For Pay As You Go customers, the rebate will be credited directly to your electricity meter.

You’ll receive confirmation that this has been completed and will be able to view this in your online account.
