Robert Pires was born on October 29, 1973.
He was born in Reims, France to a Portuguese father and Spanish mother.
Pires inherited his passion for football from his father.
When he was 15 he left school and began studying a two-year sports degree course in Reim.
Pires made his senior debut for FC Metz against Lyon in 1993.

In France, Pires played for Marseille and Provence before moving to UK team Arsenal.
Pires won the Premier League title twice with the team and was heavily involved in the 2004 “Invincibles” title win where Arsenal did not lose a game all season, winning eight league matches in a row between January and March 2004.
The Frenchman also boasts FA Cup wins and two English Charity Shields from his time with the Gunners.
In May 2006, Pires joined Spanish side Villarreal on a two-year contract.
He later moved to Aston Villa in 2010 and briefly played for Indian Super League team FC Goa between 2013 and 2014.
In February 2016, Pires announced his retirement from football.
Pires also made 79 senior appearances for the France national team throughout his career, scoring 14 goals.
Pires won the European Championship with his country in 2000 and the World Cup in 1998.
