A try bonus point will be awarded to teams that score four or more tries in a Pool match.

And earning bonus points in addition to the ones given for winning is an incentive for sides to score as much as possible.

However, nations can also collect a losing bonus point should they suffer defeat by seven or fewer points.

Are bonus points given in the knockout phase?

Bonus points are NOT awarded in the knockout stages of the competition.

There are different procedures to determine the result of a match if scores are still level after the full-time whistle.
