How a ‘flick of the wrist’ stands between drivers and an ice-free windscreen in early morning rush – they ALWAYS forget

A TIKTOK account has revealed how a simple “flick of the wrist” could stop drivers having the extra stress of an icy windscreen in the morning rush.

The account – called @Drivinglessontipsuk – shared a demonstration of the clever trick and it’s since racked up more than 180 likes.

TikTok/drivinglessontipsukThe trick is to press the demister button and turn the fan speed to full[/caption]

The video is captioned: “How to defrost your windscreen on icy mornings”.

It shows a blue vehicle with completely frozen windows and in no fit state to be driven.

The driver then jumps into the car – eager to get out of the cold – and reveals the temperature is nearly -1°C.

The clued-up motorist need not fret as he knows exactly how to transform his vehicle from unsafe to road worthy within seconds.

He swiftly presses the demister button, puts the fan speed on full and waits as the ice begins to melt away.

He adds that for faster results de icer can be sprayed on the windscreen.

Then comes the final step, simply switch on the windscreen wipers and watch them clear all the ice.

The finished result is shown as the camera pans around to show a car with squeaky clean windows ready to hit the road.

This isn’t the only de icing hack to make the news recently.

Earlier this month we told of a “magic” hack that saves drivers from scraping their windscreen.

Motoring experts from Driving Test Success posted the nifty trick to TikTok as an icy “Arctic blast” was predicted.

In the social media clip, they said: “Frozen windscreen?

“Put the temperature on high. Put the front windscreen fan on max.

“The ice will start to melt from the heat.

“Wipe away excess water and return the fan to normal.”

Commenters were quick to praise the advice, with one dubbing it “magic”.

Another added: “I’ve learnt so much thanks to your app.”
