TEMPLEGATE takes on Friday’s racing confident of winners.

GOLDEN MAVERICK (5.40 Musselburgh, nap)
Useful on the Flat and has run to a good standard over hurdles. He travelled all over his rivals at Haydock last time, continuing the incredible form of his trainer Jamie Snowden. An opening mark of 107, based on his Flat form, could underestimate him and he should be tough to beat under Gavin Sheehan.
PUREFOY (3.00 Lingfield, nb)
Improved with each of his three runs last autumn. A sharp 7f should be ideal on handicap debut and, off an opening rating of 75, he can get off the mark for three-time champ Oisin Murphy.
SCOTS POET (6.40 Musselburgh, treble)
Enhanced his great course record with a runaway success on New Year’s Day. A 6lb rise for that victory is far from harsh and he’s run well in this grade in the past. The ground will suit and Ewan Whillans is having a fine few weeks.
