TEMPLEGATE tackles Wednesday’s action confident of banging in some more winners ahead of a busy weekend.

GAYE LEGACY (3.00 Wincanton, nap)

She has been in fine form in stronger contests than this, winning nicely at Newbury two runs ago before a close-up effort in a Doncaster Listed race earlier this month. Tom Symonds’ six-year-old is proven over this punishing trip and some cut in the ground is ideal. The handicapper has been fair and she’s just 5lb higher than her last success with more improvement to come.

TOUR OVALIE (4.10 Hereford, nb)

Has shown lots of promise in bumpers and at novice hurdle level. Despite that she kicks off her handicapping career from what looks a fair mark of 97 for canny Evan Williams. She didn’t seem right at home over 2m3f at Doncaster last time and it’s telling that she drops in distance with Isabel Williams’ 3lb claim a plus.

GOONHILLY (4.00 Wincanton, treble)

He was last seen running an excellent sixth in the red-hot Imperial Cup at Sandown on handicap debut earlier this month. That was a good effort and the Skeltons drop him into much calmer waters here. Anything like his last run would be good enough to take this.

COCKTAIL DRESS (7.30 Kempton, Lucky 15)

Oisin Murphy takes the ride on this daughter of Too Darn Hot who scored well at Chelmsford before not getting the run of the race at Wolverhampton last time. This trip suits and she can show her true colours tonight.
