Could not have been more impressive when storming to victory at the Scottish track last time out. She was making her handicap debut after a 111-day break and relished the soft ground and drop back to just short of two miles. Richie McLernon settled her nicely before storming past the leaders two out to run away with a seven-length success. Her training team have wisely kept her to the same distance and, while she’s shot up the weights, this doesn’t look the strongest contest. With few miles on the clock, there should be more to come from this daughter of Shantou.
CHOSEN TEMPLAR (12.45 Musselburgh, nb)
Can strike on his hurdles debut. This six-year-old is almost making his first start for new trainer DJ Jeffries who is sending him all the way north from Worcestershire for what looks a cracking winning chance. We saw his talents when he landed a Listowel bumper with lots left in the tank last time. There are plenty of decent hurdlers in the family so he should take to jumping and there isn’t a lot of strength in depth against him here. He stayed 2m4f well when taking that bumper in County Kerry so should have no issue getting this testing trip.
HEATHEN (1.12 Southwell, treble)
He has looked a different horse since being bought by canny connections and joining David O’Meara. He kicked off by winning easily here last month over this trip and he was a bit unlucky not to follow up last time when going down by a head over course and distance. He is out seven days later from the same handicap mark as that close-run effort and will be right there again with Hector Crouch taking over on board.
