BALLYLINCH (2.25 Market Rasen, nap)

Dropping back slightly in trip looks a wise move by trainer Micky Hammond after this seven-year-old ran well for a long way at Catterick last time. He was bang in contention entering the closing stages only to fade. Market Rasen in less stamina-sapping than that Yorkshire track and the first-time cheekpieces can also help get him home with champion jockey Brian Hughes.

OOH BETTY (3.25 Market Rasen, nb)

She has been consistent this season and has won three with a further trio of placed efforts from seven starts. She was in fine form at Hereford two runs ago with a convincing success before going down in a head-bobber at Lingfield last time. She was awarded that race in the stewards’ room only to be demoted again after an appeal. Ben Clarke’s mare can gain compensation here.

LAVIDA ADIVA (3.55 Market Rasen, treble)

Makes her handicap debut from a fair mark of 112 despite shaping nicely at novice level. She scored at Catterick in December before going close there last time out. Stepping up in trip can bring more improvement and she’ll be right there.

LALOR (4.10 Taunton, Lucky 15)

Was a Grade 1 winner in his earlier days and came back from two years off to go close in this company at Wincanton 19 days ago. That will have blown the cobwebs away and he’ll have too much class for these rivals.
