Horse racing tips: Templegate’s 7-2 NAP ran a screamer on her comeback and can hit the target at Haydock

TEMPLEGATE tackles a busy day of racing on Saturday confident of plenty of winners.

Read on for his tips and back a horse by clicking their odds.

MIMIKYU (3.00 Haydock, nap)

She came back from seven months off to run a short-head second in a York Group 3 last time out.

He has winning form over this course and distance and should improve thanks to that first run of the season with Frankie taking over on top.

MIDNIGHT AFFAIR (2.05 Beverley, nb)

She looked a nice type when second on debut at Newmarket last time. She may have won but for some late traffic problems and there was plenty left crossing the line. She can go one better here.

EQUILATERAL (1.15 Haydock, treble)

He had the best of the draw when second here in the Temple Stakes but it was still a good run and he takes a fair drop in class here. He is best over this trip on fast ground and could have the best track position.

Templegate’s ITV Racing verdicts

HAYDOCK

1.15

EQUILATERAL had the best of the draw when second here in the Temple Stakes but it was still a good run and he takes a fair drop in class here.

He is best over this trip on fast ground and could have the best track position again if the clerk gets his hose out again tonight.

Raasel was on the wrong side in the Temple and is better judged on his excellent fourth at Newmarket and when winning this race 12 months ago. He can give a good account under the excellent James Doyle.

Regional had a battle up front for a long way when winning at York and did well to come out on top. This is tougher but he’s scored here before and won’t be far away.

1.50

MR WAGYU ran his best race for a long time when a close third at Epsom last time. He was the only one of the front-runners to keep going and a repeat of that would give him a major chance today under Jason Hart.

All The King’s Men is interesting taking a big drop in distance. He was unlucky not to win a hot race over a mile at Epsom last week and has enough pace to figure in this sprint.

Cooperation won at Thirsk before going down by just a length at Ascot latest. He’s done most of his winning on slow ground but handles it quicker too and could easily hit the frame.

2.25

DARK PINE did well to finish second in a good contest at Chester last time despite not getting the clearest of runs.

He has done most of his racing on the all-weather but has shown enough on turf to go close at what looks a big price. He has good 3lb claimer Laura Pearson on board for good measure.

Forza Orta ran better than seventh place suggests at York last time. It was a hot race and he was beaten only three lengths. This trip suits and he won’t be far away.

Cumulonimbus went from the front when scoring in good company at Newmarket. He’s the only confirmed front-runner in this field so could pull off the same tactics again.

3.00

MIMIKYU came back from seven months off to run a short-head second in a York Group 3 last time out. He has winning form over this course and distance and should improve thanks to that first run of the season with Frankie taking over on top.

Time Lock has been knocking on the door at Listed level with a second on the Knavesmire followed by a runner-up effort at Goodwood. This son of Frankel saw out today’s trip well there and can show more on just his sixth run.

Modaara is another with few miles on the clock. He hammered a modest field at Kempton so will find this tougher but clearly has ability for in-form Roger Varian.

3.35

THE ASTROLOGIST was entitled to need his first run at York last time after arriving from Australia where he has gone close at Group 1 level.

Ryan Moore stays on board and he should find this company easier than the Duke Of York Stakes too. His best efforts Down Under have been over this longer distance.

Jumby drops in class after finding the Lockinge too much at Newbury last time. He is best over this trip on quick ground so will have no excuses today.

The Wizard Of Eye is another eased in grade today. He is hit and miss but his best form would put him in the picture. You just can’t rely on him to deliver it.

BEVERLEY

2.05

MIDNIGHT AFFAIR looked a nice type when second on debut at Newmarket last time. She may have won but for some late traffic problems and there was plenty left crossing the line. She can go one better here.

Ziggy’s Phoenix looks a threat after a decent Listed effort in France last week. She won a couple of times in soft ground before that and can go close if handling these quicker conditions.

Alfa Moonstone had plenty up her sleeve when scoring at Catterick 16 days ago. She should handle this track and has more to offer.

2.40

MISS BRITAIN is in fine form after winning at Catterick before a tight second at Thirsk. Her best has come over this trip so dropping back can get her back in front.

United Front has done all his winning on the all-weather but went close on turf at Yarmouth latest. A repeat of that would give him every chance.

Ugo Gregory went down in a photo here ten days ago and will be a threat again over this ideal distance. Fast ground suits well.

3.15

FUSTERLANDIA looked well above average when beaten by a neck on debut at Leicester 11 days ago. He travelled smoothly but was in front a fair way from the line and just didn’t last out. He drops back a furlong here which can help him get off the mark.

Bombay Bazaar showed a liking for this track when winning with lots in the tank last time. He looked to have plenty left to offer and will be a major threat here.

Cuban Slide was very green when winning on debut at Musselburgh. He drew well away from his rivals and can take a big step forward from that.
