Home Team! Patrick Mahomes’ Wife, Kids Land in Arizona for Super Bowl Weekend

Patrick Mahomes may not be on his home turf at the Super Bowl LVII this weekend, but his home turf came to him when his family landed in Arizona to support the NFL star.

The quarterback, 27, will lead the Kansas City Chiefs as they face off against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 12, at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale. As the football pro gets ready for his second Super Bowl — Mahomes led his team to victory in 2020 at Super Bowl LIV — his wife, Brittany Matthews, and the couple’s two children are spending time in the area as they gear up to support the Texas native at the big game.

Matthews, also 27, has kept fans in the loop throughout the entirety of the Chiefs’ 2022-2023 season while simultaneously sharing sweet photos of daughter Sterling — who will turn 2 on February 20 — and son Bronze, 2 months — who’ve been there for their dad every step of the way.

On Tuesday, February 7, the soccer star gave glimpses of the family’s trip to Arizona via her Instagram Story, sharing a photo of her and Sterling in front of the plane, as well as a sweet shot of the jet-setting toddler living the high life as she happily munched away on the food spread out on her seat.

Once landing in the Grand Canyon State, Matthews — who tied the knot with Mahomes in March 2022 after 10 years of dating — posted multiple photos of their kids, including several images of her and Sterling at an aquarium and one of her baby boy resting on her. The family also spent time by the pool as evidenced by an adorable pic of Sterling in her swimsuit and a clip of her splashing her feet in the water.

Matthews is undoubtedly enjoying the Arizona weather after previously joking about Missouri’s chilly temps.

“I opened the door and thought omg it feels amazing has to be in the 60s….I checked and it’s 43,” she tweeted on Sunday, February 5. “Been out of TX to long .”

The athlete first met Mahomes while the two were in high school in Texas. The quarterback popped the question after the Chiefs’ 2020 Super Bowl win, eight years after their relationship started.

“On a day that was meant to celebrate you, you turned it into celebrating us. It’s always us, it’s always you and me,” Matthews wrote via Instagram at the time. “The words you looked into my eyes and said to me at this moment, will NEVER leave my mind! You made this day perfect, you took my entire breath away and I could not have imagined anything better. I love you, forever and always! Cheers to spending our lifetime together and an inseparable bond.”

The couple soon welcomed Sterling in February 2021, who was followed by little brother Bronze in November 2022.
