Home Bargains shoppers left speechless by discount on pack of 9 Andrex loo rolls – can you see why?

BARGAIN-hunters have gone potty after spotting a pack of nine loo rolls had been reduced — by just 1p.

They were shocked to see the tiny saving on the £4.99 Andrex toilet tissue labelled as a ‘Star Buy’ at Home Bargains.

Customers called it another example of the cost of living crisis — where a penny slashed off the price was promoted as a top deal.

Shopper Warren Kramer, 62, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. It’s just weird really. What’s the point of it?”

The former furniture wholesaler, of Essendon, Herts, added: “I mean, whatever possessed them to come up with a price saving like that. You’re not really saving anything.?”

Another Home Bargains regular said: “A penny off is hardly a ‘Star Buy’, is it? Somebody’s clearly made a mistake and missed a number off the label.”

And shopper Peter Thompson told The Sun: “All the food companies and stores are ripping us off. You’ve got to be so careful.”

Home Bargains has 539 branches and prides itself on offering top brands at low prices, while its Star Buys are the 75 top deals. The chain was contacted for comment.
