Hilary Duff’s husband Matthew Koma banned from Twitter for impersonating Gwyneth Paltrow

Actress Hilary Duff’s husband Matthew Koma, 35, was banned from Twitter on Tuesday after he used his account on the social media app to impersonate Gwyneth Paltrow.

“Thanks for all the kind messages today,” he jokingly posted on his Instagram Stories alongside a selfie of himself after his suspension.

“Closure’s hard. But it’s a community like you guys that keeps me positive and looking forward to the next time I find the opportunity to impersonate a celebrity on a social media platform.”

“Big thanks @gwynethpaltrow for the inspiration,” he added.

The star altered his account by changing his name to ‘Gwyneth Paltrow’ and changing his photo to a picture of the actress before making and replying to a series of tweets surrounding the controversial ski crash trial.

Despite all of the tweets hidden now due to the star’s suspension, a thread of tweets from confused and amused fans remains.

“The confusion I just went through…,” one wrote.

“I’m thinking his account may have been hijacked. Freakin’ funny either way,” another tweeted.

A third shared a screenshot of one of Koma’s trolling encounters responding to a meme of Paltrow featuring the star crouched over her opponent with the caption ‘I’ll take my dollar now’.

The Grammy winner is not foreign to trolling, only three weeks ago caught trolling his wife’s ex-boyfriend, singer Joel Madden. He reportedly used the singer’s birthday as an opportunity to make a joke.

“Happy birthday @joelmadden,” he wrote on his Instagram Stories, captioning a photo of the two of them walking their dogs together: “Grateful for you and our friendship @joelmadden.”

Another photo posted was a throwback photo of Joel and Hilary at a Zac Posen fashion show in New York City in September of 2006, two months prior to their split.

“It’s not even that weird that you dated my wife @joelmadden. It just makes me feel closer to you,” he wrote.
