The bakery chain, which currently has around 54 stores, is currently developing the new sites, but exact dates have not yet been confirmed.

The chain said: “Further new sites are going through legals and will be announced in the near future”.

It comes as social media users say the bakery chain is better than Greggs.

One review said: “Pasty’s so good they remind you how s**t Greggs are.”

While another added: “A welcome change from Greggs.”

The Cornish Bakery recently launched a huge new bakery in Truro.

It has also recently refurbished and reopened six stores in Gunwharf Quays, Gloucester Quays, Bath, York, Newquay and Clark’s Village.

Steve Grocutt, founder of The Cornish Bakery, said: “We have found the right location in Cornwall’s capital city and trading here has already far exceeded our wildest expectations.

“We’re now well into the process for our upcoming openings in some of UK’s most prominent market towns and cities.

“Bakery is most definitely the new coffee shop, and we’re continuing to bring our unique experience to places and spaces all over the country,” he added.

While many shops on the high street have struggled over the last year, bakeries have been announcing major expansion plans.

The Cornish Bakery is the latest in a string of mass store openings from competitors.

Rivals Wenzel’s, Patisserie Valerie, Greggs and Dunkin’ Donuts are all increasing their footprint across the UK, as revealed by The Sun.

Dunkin’ Donuts, a fast-food and bakery chain from the US, is hoping to double its existing 30 stores around the UK over the next two years.

Wenzel’s is in the process of opening nine new stores, while Patisserie Valerie has started reopening some of its sites after almost disappearing off the high street.

Greggs is planning to open a net total of 150 stores this year.
