A CLEANING expert has revealed how you can remove unsightly scratched plastic in your car without forking out too much cash.
The plastic trim in your car’s interior can take a real hammering over time – particularly if you’re regularly ferrying kids around.

TikToker @oldsolez, took to social media to show off his handy tip for getting rid of scratched surfaces and freshening up your car’s cabin.
The video is captioned ‘How to remove scratches from plastic’ and begins with the poster listing the items you need to perform the task.
First up is a heat gun, which you can pick up fairly cheaply from a variety of different stores, followed by some plastic restorer and a microfibre cloth.
@oldsolez recommends using the heat gun on a low setting over the plastic then, after leaving for a few minutes, repeating on a higher heat.
The next stage involves spraying some of the plastic restorer onto a microfibre cloth and buffing up the plastic area – it’s that simple, and the TikToker reckons you should see most if not all of the scratches disappear.
There is one word of caution for car owners attempting this technique – when using the heat gun make sure you use quick passes and don’t hold it too close to the plastic.
The video has received almost 20,000 likes and viewers were largely positive about the handy hint.
