Hercules star Kevin Sorbo claims Hollywood ‘blacklisted’ him for his conservative Christian beliefs

Kevin Sorbo says he was cancelled by Hollywood for sharing his Christian beliefs.

Sorbo, 64, rose to fame in the ’90s for his starring role in the series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys

The actor has continued to star in films and tv series over the years, most recently starring in the 2023 thriller, Left Behind: Rise of the Antichrist

However, Sorbo claimed to Fox News he was dropped by his agent after Hollywood “blacklisted” him for his conservative views.

“It was sad to me, you know, my manager and agent for so many years said that we can’t get you jobs anymore, work with you because of you being a Christian, being a conservative,” he said.

“And I almost had to laugh at that because it’s an industry that screams for tolerance, and yet it’s a one-way street,” the actor added.

Sorbo grew up in Minnesota and was raised Christian by his parents.

In recent years, he has become known for his right-leaning political and religious views that have sparked controversy on social media.

“We have such a huge divide in our country right now, and it’s perpetuated by the mainstream media, perpetuated by movies, TV,” he told Fox News.

“I don’t harbor that kind of anger and hatred towards people. I have a different point of view,” he said.

Sorbo opened up about having his social media accounts taken down on Facebook and LinkedIn, claiming the companies “don’t like the truth.”

The actor’s Facebook account was removed from the platform in 2021 during the global pandemic for violating the company’s community guidelines.

The Andromeda star had shared misleading content about the COVID-19 virus and vaccines.

“We removed Kevin Sorbo’s Page for repeatedly sharing debunked claims about the coronavirus or vaccines,” a statement provided to Fox News from Facebook read.

Sorbo took to X, formerly Twitter, to claim the act was “censorship at its finest.”

This hasn’t been the only occasion the actor has been in the heat for posting controversial opinions on social media.

The 64-year-old has spoken out in defense of Donald Trump in the past.

In 2019, Sorbo received backlash for a Tweet addressing Trump’s degrading comments about women in a tape leaked by Access Hollywood.

“If women are upset at Trump’s naughty words, who in the hell bought 80 million copies of 50 Shades of Gray?” he wrote, receiving criticism for his views on consent.

Sorbo had a clash on social media with his former Xena co-star Lucy Lawless after he made false claims following the US Capitol Hill riots in 2021.

The Hercules star first re-shared a tweet from Rogan O’Handley which featured a picture of the rioters.

“Do these look like Trump supporters? Or Leftist agitators disguised as Trump supporters…” the conservative commentator wrote.

”They don’t look like patriots to me…” Sorbo replied.

The Tweet prompted a reply from Lawless who quickly debunked that Antifa activists were involved in the riots.

“No, Peanut. They are not Patriots. They are your flying monkeys, homegrown terrorists, QAnon actors,” she said.
