‘Heartbroken is an understatement’: Taylor Ann Green’s family mourn loss of son Worth Green

The family of Southern Charm star Taylor Ann Green have revealed their heartbreak as they mourn the loss of their son, Richard Worthington Green, generally known as Worth.

A statement released by the family described Green, who died only days after his 36th birthday last week, as a man with a “beautiful passion for life”.

“Worth left this world on top of the world – he had a beautiful passion for life and cared deeply for those around him,” the Green family told People.

“We are going to miss his jovial personality and all of the love and laughter that he brought his family, girlfriend and countless friends.”

“Heartbroken is an understatement, but we are finding so much peace knowing he is in the arms of our Heavenly Father,” the statement continued, the family noting a need for “privacy at this time” as they process their grief.

Catie King, sister to the reality star and their late brother, was first to share the news, taking to Instagram and sharing a carousel of photos honoring his life.

“You are the best big brother I could have ever asked for,” King captioned her post. “This family will never be the same.”

She added: “I love you to the moon and back.”

Ex-boyfriend of the reality star and Southern Charm co-star Shep Rose responded to King’s post, calling her late brother “absolutely one of a kind. A pleasure to know and to laugh with.”

The final photo in King’s post confirmed that her brother passed away on June 8, and an obituary shared by a funeral home in Marion, NC, also confirmed the date of his passing.

“He was a beautiful example of how to live life as fully as possible. His personality was vibrant, outgoing, and loving,” the obituary read.

“Worth never knew a stranger. There is no doubt Worth is now in deep, meaningful conversations with Jesus about any and everything.”

The obit also labelled Worth “a vivacious and loving son and grandson, and the best big brother to his sisters, always being there as a protector and a cheerleader.”

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, allowing for family and friends to gather and honour Worth Green’s life. A cause of death has yet to be released.

This isn’t the first devastating loss for the Southern Charm cast with Green’s close friend and co-star Olivia Flowers mourning the loss of her own brother, Conner Flowers, who died only five months ago in January, aged 32.
