Harry Styles debuts surprise new haircut in the stands of a Premier League football match

The action may have been on the field during the Luton Town and Manchester United football game over the weekend, but it was what was hidden in the stands that had people talking.

Or rather, who.

Nestled among the fans was superstar Harry Styles – and he was sporting a brand new look.

Recently Styles sent fans into a frenzy when he suddenly shaved off his longer locks and attended a U2 concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Photos quickly spread online. Some fans loved the new look. Others weren’t so convinced.

Styles’ mother Anne Twist addressed criticism over his hair on Instagram.

In the post, she pointed out that her megastar son had built his brand on kindness – and deserved that energy to be returned. 

“When you consider that H has a legacy of kindness and inclusion, has always made every effort to make everyone feel seen and appreciated for exactly who they are, there’s an irony in the negativity he’s been shown for having a haircut.

“Sorry but I don’t get it 🤷🏻‍♀️#TPWK,” she wrote on social media.

Since he was discovered on X-Factor as a teenager, Styles has sported many different looks, from a humble mop to a slicked-back style and even longer tresses rubbing his shoulders.

At 16, Styles opted for his famed curly side swept look, that was then followed by a more bouffant style.

Once One Direction had gone on their break, Styles donned his trademarked look, the slightly 1940s inspired schoolboy cut.

For years this style had slight variations, in length and type of curl, but ultimately remained a part of his ionic look.

This style was worn all over the world, including his Love on Tour that came to Australia early last year.

It was Harry’s House and we were all invited, with sequins, feather boas, rainbow clothes and of course, his signature hairdo.
