Harry Kane ‘tells Bayern he wants transfer’ but club chief’s outburst could cost them deal for Spurs striker

HARRY KANE has vowed to join Bayern Munich, according to Uli Hoeness.

The Bayern chief last night claimed No 1 transfer target Kane wants to leave Spurs this summer as they are not in European competition.

SunSport revealed on Friday Bayern had sent a delegation to London for talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who has insisted the star striker is not for sale.

Reports in Germany claim Munich have had bids of £60million and £70m turned down.

Hoeness has now urged Spurs to name their price.

He said: “Harry Kane has very clearly signalled that his decision was made. If he keeps his word we will sign him.

“Tottenham will have to give up, we’ve to get an asking price from Levy. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge speaks to him regularly.”

Hoeness added to German free-to-air TV station Sport1: “Harry Kane now wants to play in European competitions.

“Tottenham won’t be there next season, we will be there.

“He has another chance to join a top European club. What we really liked about Harry Kane is his agents, his father, brother — they’re very pleasant people.”

Tottenham chairman Levy has denied receiving formal offers for Kane.

Spurs are prepared to give him a massive pay hike to £400,000 a week in order to persuade him to sign a new contract.

Kane’s deal runs out next year, when he could leave for free and have his pick of a number of clubs.

But Bayern, also keen on Manchester City’s Kyle Walker, appear determined to keep pushing to sign the 29-year-old this summer.

Spurs are unlikely to consider selling Kane for less than £100m and Hoeness’ outburst may well have increased the asking price still further.

Kane and the rest of Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham squad touched down in Perth at the start of the club’s pre-season tour.

The England skipper led his Spurs team-mates off the flight as they landed in Australia ahead of their opening friendly with West Ham on Tuesday.

The trip sees Tottenham’s new Aussie boss Postecoglou return to his homeland.

Son Heung-min arrived Down Under before the rest of his club colleagues. And he filled the time with a solo training session at the WACA cricket ground.

Meanwhile, Spurs want to sign Danish centre-half Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace. The Eagles will demand around £50m for the 27-year-old.
