Hailey Bieber speaks out about ‘feud’ with Selena Gomez

For months, there have been rumours of a vicious feud between Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber –– but the model is finally putting them to rest.

“There is no issue and it’s so disappointing that people still behave this way over a man,” Hailey said in an interview with The Circuit.

The skincare founder is now married to Gomez’s ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, which led to many people accusing Gomez of being “jealous” of Hailey and Justin.

In the interview, Hailey dismissed the feud rumours while also pointing a finger at the headlines and social media comments that pitted the two women against each other.

“I don’t think that this is about me, Hailey Bieber, and Selena Gomez,” she said. “This is not about this pitting between two women — it’s about the vile, disgusting hatred that can come from completely made-up and twisted, and perpetuated narratives that can be really dangerous.”

Justin and Selena dated on and off for eight years, officially calling it quits in May 2018. He then married Hailey in a courthouse wedding just a few months later, in September.

“And I think that it’s an opportunity to really stand for bringing people together and not being okay with the kind of division that it caused, because I’m not okay with [it],” Hailey continued.

“I don’t like this whole idea of team this person and team this person — I want to be able to bring people together and I think that it was a really important moment for people to see that you can do that and it doesn’t have to be about this whole divisive nature.”

The star also added that TikTok tends to be a “nasty” and “negative” space. Earlier this year, she pleaded with fans to stop leaving “nasty comments” on Gomez’s social media channels.

“If you’re leaving mean or rude comments on my behalf on anyone’s posts, just know that I don’t want that, nor do I ever or will I ever support or condone hateful, mean, or nasty comments,” the Rhode founder wrote on Instagram.

“Doing that is not supporting me. If you are participating in that you are a part of a culture that I want no part of.”

“Please be nice or don’t say anything.”

Gomez has also addressed the feud on social media, writing earlier this year: “Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity.”

“This isn’t what I stand for,” Gomez, 30, wrote. “No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.”
