SHOPPERS are only just realising there’s an easy way of getting Greggs doughnuts for just 25p.

Most high streets in the UK are home to a branch of Greggs.

The chain has more than 2,000 branches across the country and it’s even started opening drive-thrus.

But despite this, lots of fans still don’t know that Greggs also operates outlet stores – and they’re even cheaper than normal stores.

Posting on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook page one shopper couldn’t believe the prices after visiting a Greggs outlet.

They wrote: “Finally stumbled upon my first Greggs outlet. This one is in St George in Bristol.”

The savvy shopper also posted a picture of some of the treats on offer, including a 12 pack of doughnuts for just £2.90.

Other bargains a buy one get one free offer on 60p yum yums and a box of four chocolate covered doughnuts for £1 – or 25p each.

Other social media users were quick to comment, with one writing: “I’m in Bristol and would love to pop this one a visit.”

While another added: “I need a trip.”

And a third said: “Omg Omg I need to go.”

Greggs currently has 28 outlet stores up and down the country – they are mainly located in the North of England and the Midlands.

Food is sent to these stores if the chain’s nearby factories have made too many batches, normal priced stores have been unable to sell all their stock, or if items are misshapen.

It means treats are sold at a discount – and customers lucky enough to live near to one come in their droves.

Greggs previously told The Sun that it aims to have 50 of these stores in total by 2025.

The Sun visited a Greggs outlet in Newcastle – thought to be the cheapest in the country – and we were shocked at the prices.

More ways to save at Greggs

Most Greggs fans will have spotted the duel pricing that’s displayed in some of the chain’s stores.

And that’s because Greggs charges two different fees depending on whether you eat-in or take-away.

There’s a VAT charge on eat-in products and the store has confessed to a “little extra” charge in its café shops to cover “additional services”.

You can get freebies from Greggs throughout the year by taking full advantage of the bakery’s own app.

Sometimes they’ll pop up, and sometimes you have to work a little harder for them.

If you’re new to the app you can get a complimentary hot drink after the first time you download it.

It’s free to do, so that’s one way to easily bag a freebie for your next visit.

Shoppers can buy the leftovers from the shop which would have only been chucked out otherwise.

And because they were on their way to bin anyway, it means these goodies are charged at rock bottom prices.

The Too Good To Go app lets you buy “magic bags” of the discounted food that Greggs, along with plenty other shops and cafes, haven’t managed to sell.
