NEW Rangers CEO James Bisgrove has revealed that Graeme Souness has been offered the chance to take up an ambassadorial role at the club.
Bisgrove, who stepped up this spring from his role commercial director at the Ibrox club, has been speaking on a variety of topics as he meets the media for the first time in his new role.

And one of the areas of inquiry related to the club’s former player/manager Souness, amid rumours that the former SkySports pundit could be poised to make a stunning return to the club.
While he admits it was an “informal chat’ rather than anything else, Bisgrove said that the chance to be a club ambassador was “up to Graeme”.
He said: “He’s a legend of the football club and our strategy is to make sure we have great relationships with all our legends.
“In an ambassador role that’s up to Graeme – it was an informal chat, not quite the rumours going around!
“But it’s important to have a good relationship with legends.”
Meanwhile, Bisgrove said talks were scheduled about a return to larger Old Firm allocations – but for next season there would be a “maximum” of the current 800 seats.
He said: “It’s definitely an area we are looking at, we will have major discussions with several stakeholders in that.
“But there’s no specific date about Old firm ticket discussions. There is an opportunity to reinstate more fans but we need to have those conversations. I can’t commit to full allocation yet as a lot to discuss
“No pressure by anyone on Old Firm allocation, we will take decision on that. There will be no imminent return to ‘full allocation’.”
As for squad improvements for Michael Beale this summer, Bisgrove said that funding was in place – but he wasn’t sure if Gers needed “to put in more resources”.
He said: “It’s an exciting challenge. We’ve got real faith in Michael and his recruitment plan. We’re looking at it with excitement and optimism, ready to put the work in.
“I’m not sure we need to put in more resources, if you look at the evolution of the squad it’s more than we’ve seen before, the team have put together a plan and presented which is exciting and achievable.
“We have the backing of the board and our major investors and are well advanced in a number of conversations.”
