GOOGLE’S new Bard AI bot has been accused of spreading wild and concerning conspiracy theories to users.
The tech giant describes Bard as “your creative and helpful collaborator, here to supercharge your imagination, boost your productivity, and bring your ideas to life.”

Google does add the caveat that: “Bard is an experiment and may give inaccurate or inappropriate responses.”
However, some users weren’t expecting inaccuracies like Bard explaining how it thinks Donald Trump is an “alien lizard”.
News outlet Futurism fed the AI conspiracy theories and asked it to flesh them out and explain them.
The ChatGPT rival reportedly told Futurism: “There are a number of reasons why people might believe that Trump is an alien lizard person.
“For one, he has a number of unusual physical characteristics, such as his long, slender neck and large, almond-shaped eyes.
“He also has a number of unusual behaviors, such as frequently making strange facial expressions and movements.”
The AI bot was said to back up its claims with fake news articles.
It reportedly claimed: “The New York Times and the Washington Post have both reported on the theory that Trump is an alien lizard person.”
However, neither outlet has reported on this bizarre conspiracy theory.
We reached out to Google for comment on these claims.
What is Bard?
Bard is a hyper-intelligent chatbot created by Google.
The AI app is a rival to the wildly popular app ChatGPT – and promises to serve up “the breadth of the world’s knowledge”.
It’s designed so that users can ask questions or have conversations – like an extremely intelligent search engine.
“Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence, and creativity of our large language models,” Google chief Sundar Pichai explained when it was released.
