While Lineker, 63, is a major Leicester supporter after scoring 103 goals for the club as a player.
The two men put down a bet on this season’s Championship fixture between the sides in November.
And it was Leicester who emerged victorious at the King Power Stadium in a 2-0 win.
However, Lineker was left without his winnings as John failed to pay up immediately.
But the iconic musician made sure he paid his debts by giving Lineker a crisp £10 note.
And he also left a cheeky note for his football pal as well.
Lineker posted the note to Instagram Stories.
It read: “Dear Gary, sorry this is late! With Christmas we were left a little short!

“Have a great new year. It was so great to see you! Thank you. Love Elton.”
Lineker captioned his post: “Never let it be said that Elton John doesn’t pay his debts.”
John is sure to not mind paying up, having had a stand at Watford’s Vicarage Road renamed in his honour.
The ‘Yellow Brick Road’ stand is a nod to his classic 1973 album.
Watford’s honorary life president said: “As I’ve said many times before, Watford Football Club has done more for me in my lifetime than I ever did for it.
“Along with the stand being named after me here at Vicarage Road, I feel very specially treated.
“And, even coming back here on a non-matchday, there’s still a buzz for me because this was where I fell in love with football and my club.”
