Greggs’ vegan steak bake has returned to menus today

Greggs announced the return of the much-loved item to shops nationwide from today, just in time for Veganuary.

It will be priced at just £2.

The vegan steak bake first launched in January 2020, as a sequel to the hugely successful vegan sausage roll which launched a year earlier.

There is a whole range of other vegan-friendly items available for customers to enjoy including glazed ring doughnuts, sweet potato and onion bhaji rice box, and southern fried potato wedges.

The retailer also offers a variety of vegan breakfast options, including the vegan sausage breakfast roll and hash browns.

Retailers often cash in on the popularity of vegan food in January as shoppers look to clean up their diets with a New Year health kick.

You can find your nearest Greggs store by using the shop finder on its website.

The bakery chain currently runs around 2,300 shops across the UK, but said it hopes to grow to more than 3,000 stores in the future.

The company was founded by John Gregg in Newcastle in 1939.

It recently opened two more 24-hour airport branches, taking its total to six around the UK.

It has also extended the opening hours for around 500 shops to 8pm or later, making it even easier for Greggs fans to get their fix.

Meanwhile, it has at least 17 drive-thru stores across the country and plans to open as many as 10 more.

It has also rolled out a total of 28 concessions inside Tesco and has partnerships with Asda and Primark.
