From Danny Cipriani to James Haskell, rugby’s biggest ladies’ men revealed – and why they are the baddest boys in sport

RUGBY players are seemingly trying to be the baddest boys in sport.

We revealed yesterday how British and Irish Lions ace Stuart Hogg, 31, enjoyed a spa weekend with the “world’s sexiest jockey” Leonna Mayor – just days after his ex-wife Gillian Hogg gave birth to their fourth child.

But he’s not the first rugby star to have shown off the wrong kind of ball skills.

Here we look at other players who got up to scrumthing naughty.

Foden married new partner Jackie Belanoff Smith on the day of his divorce from Una

BEN FODEN, 38, and Una Healy, 42, split in 2018 after six years of marriage – with him later confessing that he cheated on The Saturdays singer.

A year later, Foden married new partner Jackie Belanoff Smith after just two weeks of dating – and on the day his divorce from Una was finalised.

The couple soon welcomed their first child together.

Following the breakdown of their relationship, it emerged Ben had cheated on Una and he was also accused of being unfaithful with PR girl Becky Milne during a night out.

Ben admitted that he put Una under a huge amount of stress in the lead-up to their marriage breakdown, but says they now focus on co-parenting their two children Aoife, ten, and eight-year-old Tadhg.

HE seems a good guy these days but during the England rugby team’s 2011 World Cup bid, Mike Tindall went to a dwarf-tossing contest in New Zealand.

The sporting idol was snapped holding one man upside down during the “Mad Midget Weekender”.

And he created a stir after being pictured with his arm around a “mystery” woman – later claimed to be an old friend – despite being wed to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips.

Mike, 45, has since insisted he has “no regrets” about that evening.

He said: “I had a good time with a lot of the players that I enjoyed playing with, with a lot of fans who I enjoy spending time with.”

In a nod to England’s World Cup win eight years earlier, he added: “It was nothing we didn’t do in 2003.”

RUGBY league ace Brett Ferres, 37, was filmed romping with the wife of his team-mate and best man – by his own missus.

In 2015, Amanda Ferres is said to have walked in on him and Victoria Huby, who was married to his Super League pal Craig Huby, catching them in the act on her phone camera.

On what would have been their first anniversary, in December that year, Victoria wrote on Twitter, now X: “Happy first wedding anniversary @Brett Ferres11… oh, we didn’t make it – 15 years together and couldn’t manage one year married.”

She added a selection of black and white photos from their wedding day, as well as a cry-laughing emoji.

PROBABLY the most notorious ladies’ man in rugby is Danny Cipriani, 36, who has been involved with a string of stars, from Katie Price and Lindsay Lohan to Cheeky Girl Monica Irimia.

Danny has previously opened up to The Sun about his sexual escapades, as well as his two-year relationship with Kelly Brook, who described him as a “car crash”.

The model and TV star ended up punching Danny in the face then dumped him when he gave a Las Vegas stripper his phone number.

It seemed he had finally settled down when he married Victoria Rose in April 2021.

However, earlier this week, they announced they had split after two and a half years of marriage after Victoria reportedly “saw messages on his phone”.

EX-England ace James Haskell, 38, and Chloe Madeley, 36, broke up in September following five years of marriage – and 13 months after becoming parents to daughter Bodhi.

The pair only announced their split last month, but had hoped to wait until their ITV reality show, Chloe Madeley: A Family Affair, had finished airing.

However, James was spotted chatting with a mystery blonde, who turned out to be PR director Martine Bridge.

Viewers also spotted cracks in their relationship on the programme.

In one episode, Chloe fumed at James for posting pictures with “girls in thongs”.

She said: “I was like, ‘I will kill you’.

“He posted videos of him with loads of girls in thongs having the best time ever because he thinks that it makes him look cool on social media.”

Meanwhile, in another episode, James told Chloe that she did not dress sexily enough for him, adding: “You always dress sl*tty when I’m not there, which is even worse.”

AARON SMITH, 34, was suspended by the All Blacks in 2017 after being caught having sex with a lawyer in an airport’s disabled toilet just hours after he had played in a Test match against South Africa.

An eyewitness told the New Zealand Herald: “The pair were in the bathroom for five to ten minutes and from the noises coming out of the bathroom there was absolutely no question what the couple were doing in there.”

Smith, who was in a relationship with Teagan Voykovich, at the time, admitted having sex with the mystery woman, and messages between the pair later came to light detailing the extent of the affair.

After he was caught, Smith told a press conference: “I’ve made a huge mistake, a huge error in judgment.

“I’d firstly like to say a huge sorry to my partner Teagan, her family, my family.

“My behaviour was unacceptable and if you could respect me and my partner in this situation . . .

“I’m just trying to get home to deal with this. Thank you.”

Smith went on to marry Teagan in 2021.

YORK Knights RLFC and Ireland player Richie Myler, 33, split from Countryfile star Helen Skelton, 40, in April last year, just four months after their daughter Elsie was born.

The couple were married for more than eight years and also share children Ernie, eight, and six-year-old Louis.

Richie quickly moved on with new partner Stephanie Thirkill and they had a baby together in April this year.

Helen, inset, has said she was “blindsided” by the break-up but it inspired her to take part in Strictly Come Dancing last year.

She added: “I was in shock . . . following break-ups, people often say they didn’t see it coming and it sounds like a cliche, but that was me.”

FORMER Newport and ex-Wales Sevens International Craig Richards, 45, claimed he had a four-year affair with former Big Brother beauty Imogen Thomas, 40.

In 2011, he said: “We’d basically meet up when she’d come back to Wales and have sex.

“It was a casual arrangement.

“We saw each other every few months over the past four years and it would still go on when she was seeing other people.

“We’d meet up, go out for something to eat then have sex.

“We’d always stay the night with each other and we’d have a kiss and a cuddle in the morning.”

JOE WESTERMAN split from wife Lauren earlier this year after an X-rated video of him performing a sex act on a married woman in an alley outside a branch of Greggs went viral.

The 34-year-old Castleford Tigers player had been on a 15-hour booze bender when he was captured with his trousers and pants around his ankles.

The loose forward was hit with a substantial fine as a result of an internal club investigation.

At the time, Lauren said: “Truth is, he only told me because it was on social media.

“But I’m glad it was found, as the thought of kissing him after that just makes me feel sick.”

‘FUN AND CHARISMATIC’

By Lizzie Cundy, Former footie Wag

I’VE been out with a couple of famous rugby stars.

One was very well known and the other was even more well known than the one I spoke about in my book.

They’re great fun, often very quick-witted and usually have a fabulous sense of humour, because rugby players are always taking the mickey out of each other.

The only thing is, they tend to have a lot of girls in reserve, if you know what I mean.

Rugby players are cleverer and actually far worse-behaving than footballers.

I’ve never known anything like it.

They juggle more balls than you can imagine and I was, sadly, one of those who have been juggled by them.

I think they get away with misbehaving more than footballers because they’ve usually come from private school backgrounds, where rugby was pushed on them.

They’re intelligent, they’ve got that charismatic charm, they’re fast on their feet and they know what they’re doing.

You can be pulled into this false sense of security by them, making you feel so special and like you’re the only one when, actually, you’re just one in a long line.

Rugby players also have a lot of time off, and plenty of spare time usually leads to temptation and naughty things.

There’s a much bigger drinking culture in rugby than in football, too.

If you don’t have a pint after the game, you’re not one of the lads, whereas footballers are very aware of what they’re eating and drinking and are encouraged to marry young and settle down.

My advice to anyone getting into a relationship with a rugby player would be that you’ve got to be strong and know that your heart will probably get broken.

With sports stars, they’re given everything very young and can be very selfish because a huge part of sport is being number one.

As a rugby player’s girl, you’ve got to be on your toes.

They’re usually very charming and very funny, but you’ve got to understand that they’ll always have their boys around them and be out on the town a lot.

You’re always going to be playing second fiddle.

Don’t think you’re going to be a priority.

Rugby is always going to be first, so you’re going to be on the bench, in reserve.
