In a time where cosmetic surgeries have become more popular and normalised on social media, Turlington says that her idea of a beauty icon is a “real face.”

“I love seeing a real face. A face of someone who’s lived life,” the supermodel explained.

The 54-year-old has been vocal in the past about not liking plastic surgeries, claiming that they look “freaky.”
“Maybe I would think differently if I thought it looked good and it didn’t hurt and it didn’t send bad messages to young people,” she told Town and Country in 2016, saying that plastic surgery looked “freaky” to her.
Now, the ’90s icon has doubled down on her distaste for cosmetic procedures.
“I love seeing a real face. A face of someone who’s lived life.”
Turlington admitted that faces like the late Jane Birkin are her personal ideal of a true beauty icon.
“They have the kind of faces I like to see and we don’t get to see as many of those in the world anymore,” she explained.
Birkin was a model and actress who had previously spoken about her unfazed approach to ageing.

”I will be one of those faces,” she told Marie Claire. “I am one of those faces.”
The supermodel shared her secrets to ageing gracefully and healthy, spilling her ‘self care ritual’.
Turlington advised trying some Yoga and small windows of meditation to relax and take some time for yourself every day.
