“I’m so lucky — being a parent is the biggest gift and most defining experience there is.”

“That’s my news for now folks,” she signed off the message.

The Hurricane singer’s post was quickly inundated with messages of congratulations from fans.

“Omg this is so sweet, thanks for sharing part of your life with us,” one person wrote.

“As someone who grew up watching you on tv and listening to your music, it makes me so happy to see you excel in everything you do,” the continued.

“He’s the luckiest little boy in the whole wide world,” another said. “I’m sure he’s very proud of you, just like we are!”

“You deserve all the happiness and love in the world. All the love for your new journey,” a third person wrote.

“Hopefully the boy will have every chance to watch Good Luck Charlie so that he could see her [sic] mother giving life advice on screen,” someone said, referring to Mendler’s character Teddy Duncan who films advice for her little sister Charlie as she grows up.

Mendler has pursued degrees at Harvard Law and as a PhD student at MIT. Most recently, the actress announced she is now a CEO of space startup Northwood Space.

The actress spoke about her transition from Disney in a 2015 interview with TVLine.

“People had told me that you should just keep doing one thing after the next, or that you should take time off, do school… and I feel like everybody really does pave their own way,” she said at the time she was acting on the sitcom Undateable.

“So for me, I’ve kind of done a combination of things.”

“I’ve been working on my music and going to school for the past year,” she said, adding that she will “generally go off of just the gut feeling that something’s right.”
