Upon signing for the Brazilian club, he revealed he wants to win promotion to Serie A this season.

He said: “I am very passionate about what I do.

“It all happened so fast. Juventude is a club that has a very good structure, it has goals, a very cool project.

“I’m very motivated, I’m very competitive and the fans can be sure they’ll have the best Nene possible, with a lot of desire to win and looking to help the team move up to Serie A, which is the big goal this year.

“My goal is to help the team go up. Whatever I can help with assists and goals is fine.

“For me, both are worth the same thing. If every game I can give an assist or score a goal. I’m very competitive, if I help the team to decide the games, I’ll be happy.”

He will be mostly remembered for starring in Ligue 1 during spells with AS Monaco and PSG.

But after leaving PSG in 2013, he joined Qatari outfit Al-Gharafa SC for two years.
