Ford Capri up for sale for £5,400 – as seller reveals they’re ditching beloved motor ‘so ex doesn’t get it in divorce’

AN owner of a sleak Ford Capri has put the car up for sale so that their “ex doesn’t get it in the divorce”.

The 1981 two-door Ford Capri Mk III 2.8i is being sold on eBay for a reasonable £5,400.

In the listings, it states: “Honestly, the only reason I’m selling it is because I don’t want my ex getting it in the divorce.”

The four-seater is described as being in “great condition” although the owner does admit it does need some attention.

In the online advert it says there are “a few scuff marks on the passenger front wing.”

And it adds: “There is also an issue with the rear suspension.”

The listing also says the car comes with minilite wheels.

The private seller from Neston, Cheshire, also says: “This car has recently been resprayed, welding and whole new custom interior, (this was due to the car being SORN for a long period).”

Photos show the green car with a black interior has done 31,900 miles, according to the milometer.

If fans of the Ford Capri have a bigger budget, they might want to get their hands on this piece of motorsport history.

An Autoplan Capri 3.0 S. FIA ‘Group 1’ is heading to Iconic Auctioneers ‘Race Retro’ Car Sale in February – with a guide price topping £70,000.

This comes as another racing Capri heads to auction next month with racing bucket seats and finished in an eye-catching Sebring Red – and it can be yours for a bargain price.

Meanwhile a rare Mk2 Ghia Automatic which comes in original white and has only 71,000 miles on the clock could be yours for £9,250.

Elsewhere, Netflix fans should get a load of this Jaguar sports car used in the hit series The Crown.

The 1987 XJ-S Cabriolet is almost identical to the one Princess Diana used in real life and featured in season five of the show – and now it’s set to sell for £20,000.
