Fleet of five 200mph McLaren supercars pulled over by police for speeding at over 100mph

A FLEET of 200mph McLarens is brought to a halt — by PC Plod.

The five supercars were pulled over by police in a diesel BMW for doing more 100mph along the A303 in Wiltshire.

One officer said: “They could have caused a pile-up, killing innocent people.”

In a post online, cops said: “Managed to get five McLarens stopped on the A303 after the pack were driving in excess of 100mph and close proximity driving to themselves and the public.

“This isn’t a race track so take your ‘driving experience’ and sign the traffic offence report.”

Asked how they managed to catch up with the supercars, Wiltshire Police joked: “Well, they can only go a few miles before they have to pull over to take pictures of their cars.”

One traffic cop added: “The drivers might have thought they were Lewis Hamilton but it was lunacy to go that fast in such a powerful car on an ordinary public main road.

“Let’s hope the courts throw the book at them.”

It was thought the cars may have been on their way to a track day at nearby Thruxton when they were stopped.

A spokesman for McLaren said: “We are aware of this. It was a group of McLaren enthusiasts who were stopped by police.

“It was not a promotional or testing activity.”
