Winter wonderland! Olivia Wilde enjoyed a trip to Disneyland with her two children as she continues to work out a custody agreement with ex-fiancé Jason Sudeikis.
“Bury me under space mountain this is my favorite place on earth. #disneylandchristmas #disneylandholidays #churros #churros #churros #churros,” the Booksmart director, 38, captioned a slideshow of Instagram photos on Sunday, December 11, sharing glimpses of the fun-filled day.
In one snap, Wilde was all smiles while riding a carousel and wearing a pair of mouse ears. Another picture showed her walking beside son Otis, 8, and daughter Daisy, 6, as they admired the Christmas lights.
“Cutiezzzz ,” Queer Eye‘s Jonathan Van Ness gushed in the comments section, adding, “Also, yas churros.”
The rare family photos come amid the House alum’s legal battle with Sudeikis, 47, to whom she was engaged from 2013 to 2020. Us Weekly confirmed in April that Wilde was served with custody documents while presenting her movie Don’t Worry Darling at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
“Papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis,” a source exclusively revealed at the time, noting that the Ted Lasso actor didn’t realize when the envelope would be delivered. “He would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.”
Four months later, Wilde countered in court docs of her own that she believed Sudeikis “clearly intended to threaten me and catch me off guard” with the exchange. “He could have served me discreetly, but instead he chose to serve me in the most aggressive manner possible,” she argued. “The fact that Jason would embarrass me professionally and put our personal conflict on public display in this manner is extremely contrary to our children’s best interests.”
In his response, the Saturday Night Live alum explained that he didn’t want the delivery to occur at Otis and Daisy’s school or at the home of Wilde’s then-boyfriend, Harry Styles, in case the kids happened to be there. “I understand that the process server had only done her job; however, I deeply regret what happened,” he continued in August. “Olivia’s talk was an important event for Olivia, both professionally and personally, and I am very, very sorry that the incident marred her special moment.”
The former O.C. star candidly addressed the “appalling” incident during a Variety interview published that same month. “The only people who suffered were my kids, because they’ll have to see that, and they shouldn’t ever have to know that happened,” she claimed, emphasizing that unlike her, Otis and Daisy did not “willingly” step into the spotlight. “When my kids are dragged into it, it’s deeply painful.”
Despite their ongoing drama, the exes issued a rare joint statement in October when their former nanny made several allegations to the Daily Mail about Wilde and Sudeikis’ breakup. The employee claimed that the We’re the Millers star “was out of control crying” after discovering texts on Wilde’s Apple Watch that seemingly confirmed she was having an affair with Styles, 28, whom she directed in Don’t Worry Darling.
“As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make up such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly,” the filmmaker and the Emmy winner said in a statement to Us at the time. “This is the unfortunate apex of a now, 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as our loved ones, close friends and colleagues. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.”
One month later, Us confirmed that the Tron: Legacy actress and Styles had called it quits after nearly two years of dating.
