Fans stunned as Mauro Icardi linked with shock Premier League transfer despite raking in more than DOUBLE highest earner

FULHAM are in talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Mauro Icardi, according to reports.

And a deal for the Argentina striker could see his model wife Wanda Nara gracing Craven Cottage fixtures next season.

Icardi, 30, has a year left on his contract. However, his PSG prospects are bleak faced with competition from Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar.

The eight-cap international is on a season-long loan to Galatasaray.

He has scored 14 goals in 19 games, setting up seven more, to help the Istanbul giants top the Super Lig.

Reports in Turkey now claim Fulham sources have said a deal is in place to sign Icardi during the summer.

The west Londoners are thought ready to pay PSG around £13million for the frontman.

Turkish outlet AsMarca.tr claim Icardi is close to agreeing personal terms with Fulham officials.

Icardi’s current deal at PSG sees him earn almost £10m a year – more than double Fulham’s highest earners Bernd Leno and Layvin Kurzawa, who earns £4.7m as per Capology.

Fans online did not take well to the news.

One fan fumed: “If Fulham even entertain buying Mauro Icardi all those responsible need to be dragged to the coast and fired from a cannon into the North Sea, we won’t be having any of that foolishness here.”

A second said: “I really do not want Icardi at Fulham! Waste of money in my opinion! It could be less spent on a player Marco [Silva] can develop tbh.”

While a third added: “Icardi brings circus levels of distractions….not sure he’s the answer to any question Fulham have.”

The former Sampdoria and Inter Milan ace has five major trophies with PSG and a host of individual prizes in Italy.

Marco Silva‘s side have impressed since their Premier League return last summer.

They are on course for a top-half finish, and battled new leaders Manchester City all the way in Sunday’s 2-1 home defeat.

Icardi married fellow Argentine Wanda in 2014, and the couple have two daughters.

TV presenter Wanda, 36, was previously wed to Icardi’s ex-Samp teammate Maxi Lopez before they divorced in 2013.

She regularly posts racy pictures on social media.
