Fans fuming over McDonald’s Grimace Crocs selling out leaving shoppers sad saying it will ‘ruin a lot of Christmases’

MCDONALD’S customers are sharing their devastation after the chain rolled out a line of footwear.

The Grimace-themed Crocs and socks sold out within hours in many sizes, leaving fans searching for shoes.

The product drop, which occurred at midday on November 14, included four distinct designs featuring classic McDonald’s characters.

Most popular among them was the Grimace design, which features the restaurant’s iconic fuzzy purple character from the 1960s.

GRIMACE GRIPE

In less than a day, the Crocs store sold out of many sizes of the purple, fur-lined slides.

Most impacted were the large sizes, like women’s sizes 11-12 and men’s sizes 9-13.

Fans might have luck following the website, which is frequently updating. The Crocs go in and out of stock frequently.

However, the website says that only a few of each size are left in stock.

Consumers may need to rush to buy the Crocs and matching socks before they sell out.

With the holiday season approaching, the shoes are available for $70 in the U.S.

In addition to the Crocs website, the shoes are offered at Foot Locker.

CROC CRAZE

Many McDonald’s enthusiasts took to social media to vent their frustrations.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one customer suggested they wanted to give the shoes as a gift.

“This is going to ruin a lot of Christmases,” they said of the sell-out.

A Facebook user said they were impacted emotionally when they learned the Crocs had sold out.

“The wave of depression coming over me as I go to buy Grimace crocs and they’re sold out in my size,” they said.

Another tweet begged the shoe maker to provide more Grimace goods.

“PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BLESS ME WITH A PAIR OF GRIMACE COZZZZY SANDALS!!” they said. “I COMPLETELY MISSED THE DROP!”

LOAD OF CROCS

While Grimace has gained much of the attention, the McDonald’s shoe launch has involved a full cast of characters.

In addition to the Grimace merchandise, the store revealed Hamburglar and Birdie Crocs, as well as a shoe with the restaurant’s red and yellow motif.

The shoemaker is no stranger to unique footwear crossovers.

In September, the Shrek Croc launched.

The shoe was created in collaboration with Dreamworks over 20 years after the studio released the animated classic.

The company recently collaborated with Taco Bell on a pair of slides.

They’ve also released shoes based on the movie Cars.
