McGregor revealed details of the event will be confirmed soon but supporters are concerned about his wellbeing.
In a recent interview the former champion had difficulty speaking and slurred his words, leading fans to believe there is no way he will beat Chandler.
One wrote: “This man is getting KO’d by Chandler.”
A third said: “I’d put money on McGregor getting his face smashed in.”
And another commented: “He’s gonna get clipped.”
Another added: “Now he is struggling to even construct proper sentences.
“He was known for his skill on the mic but now he is struggling to do even that. What a downfall. He was my fav fighter and now he is just a shell of the previous man.”
McGregor, 34, is still building up his fitness following a lengthy injury lay off and enjoyed a bike ride around Dublin this week.
He used to be a regular cyclist but began pursuing other past times after he was knocked off by a car in January.
After his ride McGregor cooled down by taking a dip in the notoriously-cold Irish Sea.
McGregor looked eager to get in at the Vico Baths in Dalkey, even diving from a short height into the briny depths.
And the cold did not bother the ace one jot as he flashed a cheeky smile and a thumbs-up to the camera.
