Fans cringe at ‘awkward’ Evra interview as Kate Abdo is forced to apologise on live TV for Man Utd icon

FANS were left cringing at Patrice Evra’s appearance on CBS Sports.

Following Manchester City’s 4-0 thrashing of Real Madrid, host Kate Abdo was gearing up alongside panellists Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher and Micah Richards when Evra introduced himself.

A rambunctious cameo then followed from the Manchester United icon.

With the “audition” flowing, Carragher asked Evra about a spat he had with Pep Guardiola’s assistant Manel Estiarte following the final whistle.

Evra explained: “He was looking at me, he was like ‘this is for you, this is for you’.

“So I came close and said ‘why you shouting, why you so agitated?’ He said because last year I said last year they s*** themselves, that’s why they lost to Madrid and I said this year they didn’t s*** themselves.”

Ex-Man City star Richards tried to interject with a point of his own before Evra snapped back, saying: “Because that’s the truth Micah, I’m an honest man, I’m straight.”

The expletives left Henry running for cover, with fellow CBS member Peter Schmeichel heard making an audible gasp as well.

Abdo then managed to get a word in, telling Evra: “The audition isn’t going so well because we don’t cuss on this show. Apologies America.”

Fans were also left unimpressed with Evra’s appearance, with one declaring: “Evra is a weirdo.”

While another added: “Don’t bring Evra back he’s so annoying.”

Carragher even described Evra’s cameo as “colourful” when sharing the video on Twitter later.
