ENGLAND fans were left baffled as a paper aeroplane became the highlight of a dire first half against Malta.
Gareth Southgate‘s side failed to register a single shot on target against the visitors.

Despite this the Three Lions went into the break 1-0 ahead following an own goal from Enrico Pepe after eight minutes.
But eagle-eyed fans found some excitement in the match when a paper aeroplane flew across the screen.
Reacting to the plane, one fan said: “Paper Aeroplane game the highlight of the first half.”
A second said: “That paper aeroplane might actually make the highlights.”
A third said: “People getting more excited about a paper aeroplane making the pitch than what bore fest is on the pitch. Sums up Southgate’s England.”
A fourth said: “Paper aeroplane went for miles there. Nearly at the half way line.”
Another said: “Just seen a paper aeroplane fly across the screen in the England game. Most exciting thing in the first half.”

Three Lions fans were also left fuming after captain Harry Kane was denied a “stonewall penalty”.
