He is currently miles away from North London in Portugal as he was filmed putting in the work at a warm weather training camp.

But social media is baffled by his presence there given he is the only non-Portuguese star in the clip.

Rice can be seen at The Campus facility with Manchester United playmaker Bruno Fernandes and Manchester City defender Joao Cancelo.

AC Milan forward Rafael Leao was also at the forefront of the video.

And Rice‘s link-up with the Portugal stars was questioned by several people online.

One said: “OK but seriously what is Rice doing with all Portugal national team players?”

Another added: “I understand the three [Leao, Fernandes, Cancelo] are Portuguese, how has rice found himself there .”

A third replied: “This link up is so weird, what’s Declan Rice doing there ? ”

And a fourth responded: “What a weird linkup Cancelo and Leao I understand but Rice?”

Arsenal’s imminent acquisition of Rice comes after they already secured a £65m deal to bring Kai Havertz in from Chelsea.

They are also on the brink of signing defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax for £35m.
